In the beginning ...

And along the way
Joan is a long-standing Chicago-area Newspaper Columnist currently featured in the Kane County Chronicle and Elburn Herald Newspapers. Her “Yo Joan” columns include insights into stress reduction and meditation – subjects Joan has studied and taught for decades. Before Kane County, DuPage and Cook Counties of Suburban Life Newspapers featured “Yo Joan” for 9 years as a bi-weekly Advice Column. Circulations for these papers reached well over 100,000.
Her Doctorate is in Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a final dissertation entitled Toward an Awareness Curriculum based on Yoga Experiences and Traditions. This dissertation was additionally inspired by her ten years traveling the globe giving Awareness Seminars with J. Francis Stroud, SJ, Founder of the DeMello Spirituality Center of Fordham University in New York. Over the years, Joan has written and produced a vast assortment of books, screenplays, and recordings with more on the way.


When Joan is not meditating, she enjoys playing meditative music on her harp.
