Have you ever experienced the brunt of unfair gossip? Perhaps it’s happened at work or in school, between neighbors, at a party, a sporting event, online, or in any of the many ways and places we communicate. Gossip can insidiously take a grip and distort reality further than it already is.

There comes a time when you read something so powerful you want to share with it is many people as you can.  Well, here it is.  I found this excerpt in a post by Tim Ferriss. It’s a passage from the book “Island” by Aldous Huxley​.

What to do when the world seems to be goin’ batty? Our increased awareness of the troubles of the world can create a sense of helplessness.  The problems are so massive. What can you, as one person, do to help? Where do you start? Combine this sense of helplessness with a sense of fear that the violence of the world could easily spread to home base. We are all becoming more and more interconnected on this crazy planet called home.

The big events in life pack power – weddings, funerals, anniversaries, birthdays.  They tend to be seen as life changing markers in life  Yet it’s the subtle experiences that shape us into creating the grand ones.  Those subtle life changers are happening on a regular basis – even possibly right this very moment.

The month of love is here!  Whether you’re in love or looking for it, here’s an exercise to get you moving in the right direction.  It involves your cute little tootsies.  So take off your socks and let’s have some fun playing Footsie in February!

Compassion, humility, kindness – there’s something to be said for the practice of these traits.  As we journey into 2022, I’m sure we’ll find an abundance of opportunities to practice these sterling qualities towards others, and also to ourselves.
